We are excited to announce that Walter Cook, Managing Member of Bashmundo Capital, has joined as an Affiliate Partner.
Mr. Walter R. Cook, is the Managing Member of Bashmundo Capital LLC.
Bashmundo Capital specializes in identifying CRA-qualified investments for U.S. commercial banks and insurance companies; the firm also advises The Community Development Fund (ticker: CDCDX) and its Advisor.
Mr. Cook is an experienced banker having held executive positions--including CEO and Chairman--in commercial banks, securities broker/dealers, and non-bank financial institutions.
Mr. Cook is currently the Chairman of Efficient Health Finance Inc., a private company that discounts and collects medical receivables.
Mr. Cook served as the CEO and Chairman of the board of Republic Federal Bancorp, Inc. from 2003 to 2010.
From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Cook served as Executive Vice President of First Republic Bank, and prior to that spent 20-years at Republic New York Corporation serving as the CEO of banks in Chile, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Los Angeles.
Mr. Cook has advised the World Bank and the Ministry of Economy of Costa Rica on issues ranging from the establishment of a guarantee fund to the practical and legal aspects of floating lien-based lending. He also has provided expert witness testimony on lending and banking practices in federal bankruptcy court in Massachusetts and in state court in Florida.
Mr. Cook has received a BA from Duke University in 1976, an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1982 and an MALD from the Fletcher School, Tufts University in 1978. He is also fluent in Spanish.
Mr. Cook holds the series 7 and 63 registrations with FINRA as well as an ACAMS certification as an anti-money laundering specialist.
