Mr. Johan is the Founder and Principal of Maxwell Capital, LLC. Mr. Johan has 16 years of investment banking experience focused on raising capital for marine transportation and offshore energy companies.
Prior to launching Maxwell Capital, Mr. Johan opened and led the New York office and the US-focused corporate finance practice for Arctic Securities, a Norwegian investment bank with a focus on shipping and offshore energy segments.
Prior to Arctic Securities, Mr. Johan was a partner at RS Platou Markets where he had origination and execution responsibilities for private and public debt and equity placements in shipping and offshore energy. This firm was sold to Clarkson PLC and renamed Clarkson Platou Securities.
Prior to RS Platou Markets, Mr. Johan was an Investment Banking Analyst and Associate at Jefferies & Co. where he worked on the origination and execution of high yield bond and private equity placements and advisory assignments focusing on shipping and agricultural commodity transactions. Mr. Johan worked from both the New York and Singapore offices.
Mr. Johan has focused on structures including Project bonds (IG/sub-IG), Senior debt, Sale-leasebacks, Mezzanine, and Private Equity. He has also focused on issuers which are privately held corporates that typically are non-US domiciled.
Mr. Johan received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Johan holds the Series 7, 24, 55, 63, and 79 registrations with FINRA.
