David Frank, CFA
CEO & Managing Partner

David Frank is the CEO and Managing Partner of Stonehaven, LLC. Mr. Frank founded the Firm in 2001 and has spent over 15 years leading the strategic vision of the Firm, designing the overall architecture and infrastructure of the Firm’s platform, building and managing key relationships across the financial industry, spearheading due diligence on all capital raising mandates and direct investments, managing financial systems, collaborating with the Firm’s CCO to oversee important compliance matters, and working tirelessly with managers to raise capital among established investor relationships globally.

Mr. Frank has significant experience in a wide range of investment strategies across hedge funds, real estate, private equity, deal-specific private placements and long-only.  Mr. Frank is a frequent speaker on various topics in the alternative investment space.

Prior to founding Stonehaven, Mr. Frank worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions group of Robertson Stephens in San Francisco. Mr. Frank graduated with honors from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business with a B.B.A. Mr. Frank is a CFA charterholder, on the Executive Committee of the Investment Management Division of the UJA Federation, a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, and active with the New York Society of Security Analysts. Currently, Mr. Frank holds the Series 7, 24, 31, 66, 79 and 99 registrations with FINRA. Mr. Frank lives in Scarsdale, NY with his son and daughter.

Steven Jafarzadeh, CAIA
Managing Director, CCO & Partner

Steven Jafarzadeh is a Managing Director, the CCO and a Partner of Stonehaven, LLC. Mr. Jafarzadeh contributes significantly to planning the overall strategic direction of the Firm, managing compliance, supervising operations, serving as the point person with FINRA, the SEC, the NFA and the MSRB, spearheading contract negotiations with all outside parties, creating and implementing systems that provide scale to the Firm’s platform, providing strategic guidance to employees and Affiliate Partners, and identifying and cultivating long-term, strategic relationships within the financial community. Mr. Jafarzadeh coordinates all cycle examinations with regulatory organizations as the Firm’s CCO and has maintained the Firm’s exemplary record through each regulatory exam despite the complexities of a dynamic regulatory landscape, a growing team, and a business model unique to regulators.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Mr. Jafarzadeh was Head Trader for a boutique broker dealer in California and managed order flow from multiple in-house hedge funds, managed accounts and institutional equity sales channels. Mr. Jafarzadeh has also served in various compliance roles which have been instrumental regarding the launch and administrative maintenance of a Registered Investment Adviser, multiple onshore and offshore hedge funds, and managed accounts.

Mr. Jafarzadeh attended the University of Vermont with a focus in economics and earned a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Jafarzadeh is a CAIA charter holder, and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. Mr. Jafarzadeh is also a Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional (CRCP), having earned this designation through the FINRA Institute at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Jafarzadeh is also an elected member and Small Firm Representative of the FINRA-District 10 Committee which serves the greater metropolitan area of New York and its five boroughs. Mr. Jafarzadeh is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Third Party Marketers Association and serves as Director of Communications for the Regulatory Committee. Mark J. Sullivan, CFA
Managing Director & Partner

Mark Sullivan is a Managing Director and Partner at Stonehaven, LLC. Mr. Sullivan works closely with Stonehaven’s CEO to spearhead origination and ongoing management of mandates while also playing a senior management role.

Prior to Stonehaven, Mr. Sullivan was the Director of US Sales Management at Man Investments Inc. where he coordinated product operations and development and managed related workflow across stakeholders including investment management, marketing, third party investors, service providers, legal, compliance, operations, reporting and management. Mr. Sullivan came to Man Investments Inc. following the acquisition of Ore Hill Partners LLC in May 2011, where Mr. Sullivan was a Partner and served as the firm’s CFO and COO for over 8 years. Mr. Sullivan built and managed all non-investment functions for the multi-product alternative asset management firm and was integral in helping grow the firm from $70 million to $3 billion AUM. Prior to Ore Hill Partners LLC, Mr. Sullivan worked for Credit Suisse First Boston / Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette within their Private Client Services division from 2000 to 2003. Mr. Sullivan also worked with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in their Private Wealth Management division from 1998 to 2000.

Mr. Sullivan earned an M.B.A. from the Leonard Stern School of Business at NYU with a concentration in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Boston College. Mr. Sullivan is a CFA charter holder and member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), where he serves as the Co-Chair of NYSSA’s Alternative Investments Interest Group. Currently, Mr. Sullivan holds the Series 3, 7, 24, and 63 registrations with FINRA. Mr. Sullivan lives in Larchmont, NY with his wife and four children.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Mr. Colella worked as a Director in Equity Sales Trading for Citigroup. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Colella spent most of his career at Goldman Sachs where he served in various senior sales roles in New York, London and Milan from 1997 through 2015. While at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Colella developed and maintained a significant number of strategic relationships with clients in the US and abroad.

Mr. Colella earned a B.A. from Fairfield University graduating magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors. Mr. Colella currently holds the Series 7, 63 and 55 registrations with FINRA. Mr. Colella lives in Greenwich, CT with his wife and twin boys.

Kate Roberts
Director

Ms. Roberts is a Director on the alternative investments distribution team within Stonehaven, LLC. Ms. Roberts manages institutional relationships and has significant experience within business development for institutional asset management firms.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Ms. Roberts served as a Vice President of Institutional Business Development at the Kiski Group where she focused on the development and implementation of the firm’s capital raising plan for internally and externally managed strategies. Prior to the Kiski Group, Ms. Roberts served as an Institutional Sales Manager for Schroders Investment Management, North America. Ms. Roberts began her career as an Analyst at Moody’s Analytics in New York where she was promoted to Credit Analytics Relationship Manager.

Ms. Roberts earned a B.A. with a double major in Economics and Policy Studies at Lafayette College where she was a Division 1 soccer player, and 4-year varsity letter recipient on the NCAA Academic Honor Roll. Ms. Roberts currently holds the Series 7 and 66 registrations with FINRA.

Cary Segall
Director

Mr. Segall is a Director on the alternative investments distribution team within Stonehaven, LLC. Mr. Segall manages institutional relationships and has significant experience within business development for institutional asset management firms.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Mr. Segall served as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch, briefly. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Segall served as Managing Director of Business Development for Fort L.P., a top decile multi-strategy firm with approximately $6B under management. Prior to Fort, Mr. Segall was a Managing Director of Business Development for Park Avenue Venture Group where he was personally responsible for raising over $100M in AUM for the firm. Prior to Park Avenue Venture Group, Mr. Segall founded Segall Real Estate LLC and served as its CEO where he successfully closed over $50M in projects in New York City and Nassau County, and managed a portfolio of 10 properties.

Mr. Segall earned a BS in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University. Mr. Segall also earned a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from New York University. Patrick Nasr, CPA
Controller

Patrick Nasr is the Controller of Stonehaven, LLC.  Mr. Nasr spearheads all financial and accounting functions within the Firm while also playing a senior operations role.  Mr. Nasr has significant experience with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal controls and SEC and regulatory reporting.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Mr. Nasr was an Associate Director at Apollo Global Management, LLC where he was responsible for financial and management reporting, and worked closely with other teams within corporate finance, as well as fund controllers and the investor relations group, to ensure proper disclosure of all key transactions and earnings metrics. Previously, Mr. Nasr served as a Senior Manager within the Accounting and Regulatory Policy team at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Nasr started his career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche LLP as an Audit Manager within the Audit and Enterprise Risk Services department, where he planned, supervised and performed audit functions for clients within the financial services industry.

Mr. Nasr earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of San Diego where he graduated cum laude with honors. Mr. Nasr is a Certified Public Accountant.

Domenic Miele
Vice President, Operations

Domenic Miele is a Vice President of Operations at Stonehaven, LLC. Mr. Miele has extensive operations experience in the alternative investment space. Mr. Miele provides widespread support on daily operational functions, coordinates critical and timely data management across the Firm’s platform, assists with compliance, and supports recurring research and diligence initiatives.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Mr. Miele had served as Operations Associate with Legg Mason’s Security Master Fund where he was responsible for conducting daily valuations of domestic and international equities, fixed income securities, and derivatives. Previously, Mr. Miele worked in multiple operational, due diligence and investor relations capacities within boutique organizations focused on structured lending, fund of hedge fund management and proprietary trading.

Mr. Miele earned a B.A. in Finance from IONA College. Mr. Miele holds a Field Examiner Certificate issued by the Commercial Finance Association. Currently, Mr. Miele holds the Series 7, 24, 31, and 63 registrations with FINRA.  Mr. Miele lives in Hartsdale, NY with his wife and three children.

Brittany Parisi
Vice President, Operations

Ms. Parisi is a Vice President of Operations at Stonehaven, LLC. She is instrumental in supporting management and the distribution team with multiple responsibilities relating to operations, information technology, investment marketing and client relations among various other duties.

Prior to joining Stonehaven, Ms. Parisi was a Financial Risk & Engineering Analyst at Barclays Capital where she interfaced with trading desks and senior credit officers to facilitate resolution of credit issues and specialized transactions.  She served as a key coordination liaison for the prime brokerage department, senior credit risk managers and internal business units regarding the targeting and implementation of system enhancements.  Prior to Barclays Capital, Ms. Parisi held analyst positions in prime brokerage and transaction services at Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch.  Ms. Parisi also spent time as a Microfinance Consulting and Small Business Training intern at the Institute for the Competitiveness and Productivity of Puebla (IPPC).

Ms. Parisi earned a B.S. in International Business with a concentration in Finance from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship.  Ms. Parisi currently holds the Series 99 registration with FINRA.

While at Ridgeway Capital, Ms. Carranza raised in excess of $275 million for alternative investment managers in the private equity and hedge fund arena both in developed and emerging markets. Prior to joining Ridgeway Capital in New York, Ms. Carranza served as an Executive Search Consultant conducting senior level assignments for a variety of private and public real estate owners, developers, private equity funds, family offices and investment managers. Prior to recruiting she served as an Account Executive with Bloomberg LP. Ms. Carranza spent the first eleven years of her finance career as an Institutional Taxable Fixed Income Salesperson for Merrill Lynch, J.P. Morgan and Cowan & Company.

David Anness |  Director

David Anness is the Managing Partner and Founder of Anness Advisors LLC. Mr. Anness specializes his efforts on capital raising for alternative investment managers with a focus on Latin American strategies.

Prior to launching Anness Advisors, Mr. Anness was a Portfolio and Risk Manager for Perimeter Asset Management, a Brazilian asset management firm where he was responsible for portfolio construction and risk associated with the partners’ fund. Prior to Perimeter, Mr. Anness was a founding partner of Vila Nova Asset Management which was an opportunistic wealth management platform that had offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aries, Argentina.

Prior to Vila Nova Asset Management, Mr. Anness was a Junior Partner with Cantor Fitzgerald Securities in New York. Mr. Anness managed emerging market equity sales, Forex sales, and established and managed a new trading desk to distribute OTC Latin American ADRs which grew to managing 10 traders and approximately 35% of the market share for this type of operation. Prior to Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Anness was a senior trader for Tullet and Tokyo Forex Ltd, and a trader for Chase Manhattan Bank; both trading positions were based in London.

Mr. Anness attended Dovedale College of Further Education in Chelmsford, England. He currently holds the Series 7 and 63 registrations with FINRA. Mr. Anness is a permanent Brazilian resident where he resides with his wife and four children. He is fluent in English and Portuguese. Brian R. Gill | Partner 

brian bw2Brian Gill is a co-founding Partner of Artis Advisors. Mr. Gill works primarily in sourcing and executing compelling real estate investment opportunities.

Prior to the formation of Artis Advisors, Mr. Gill was a co-founding Managing Director of Kalorama Realty Capital, a predecessor company to Artis Advisors. Before forming Kalorama, Mr. Gill was an Associate Director at Cushman & Wakefield, where his transaction volume exceeded $500 million. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Gill acquired and financed over $150 million in multifamily properties at Bonaventure Realty Group, where he rose from Analyst to Vice President.

He serves as Adjunct Professor of Finance and Real Estate at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and has also taught MBAs at George Washington University. Mr. Gill holds Masters degrees in business and economics from Northwestern University and the London School of Economics and a BA from the University of South Florida. Sam bwSamuel Glass is a co-founding Partner of Artis Advisors. Mr. Glass works primarily in sourcing and executing compelling real estate investment opportunities.

Prior to the formation of Artis Advisors LLC, Mr. Glass was a co-founding Managing Director of Kalorama Realty Capital, a predecessor company to Artis Advisors LLC. Previously, Mr. Glass worked for Federal Capital Partners (FCP), a real estate private equity firm which has acquired more than $2 billion of real estate assets and debt in the mid-Atlantic. At FCP, Mr. Glass’ responsibilities included financial projections, asset management, investor relations, acquisitions and capital events (dispositions and refinancings).

Before joining FCP, Mr. Glass was an Investment Analyst with The World Bank’s Pension Investments Department, where he focused on limited partnership investments and co-investments with sponsors of private equity and real estate investment funds. Mr. Glass’ prior experience also includes two stints at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in investment banking and real estate principal investing, respectively.

Mr. Glass received his MBA from Columbia Business School and BA from Yale University. He is an active member of PREA and the DC Real Estate Group. Mr. Glass currently holds the Series 7 and 63 registrations with FINRA.

Corey J. Chisnell | Partner 

corey bwCorey Chisnell is a Partner of Artis Advisors. Mr. Chisnell works primarily in sourcing and executing compelling real estate investment opportunities.

With over 20 years in the real estate and investment banking industries, Mr. Chisnell has completed transactions totaling over $30 billion in aggregate, spanning M&A, recapitalizations, equity private placements and offerings of public equity, preferred stock, public debt and bank debt.

Prior to joining Artis Advisors, Mr. Chisnell was engaged as a consultant with PRP, LLC and Ridge Property Trust, raising institutional private equity. From 2008 to 2013, Mr. Chisnell was a Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group of BMO Capital Markets, where he led transaction coverage of public REITs and private real estate companies. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Chisnell was a Principal in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, where he was responsible for transaction execution of public offerings of equity and debt, M&A, and private placements. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Chisnell was responsible for business origination and transaction execution as a Senior Vice President for Moag & Company, a boutique investment banking firm focused on the sports and media industries.

Victor L. Zimmermann, Jr.  | Managing Partner & Founder

Vic Zimmermann is the Managing Partner and Founder of Blue Water Strategy Partners, LLC.   Mr. Zimmermann specializes his efforts on capital raising for alternative investment managers with a focus on deal-specific opportunities given his broad spectrum of global relationships and background as a financial services attorney with over 30 years’ experience advising domestic and international clients in all aspects of investment management, transactional, litigation and regulatory matters.

Prior to launching Blue Water Strategy Partners, Mr. Zimmermann was a Partner, Member of the International Corporate Department and Co-Chair of the International Funds Group at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP (‘Curtis”), an international law firm headquartered in New York. While at Curtis, Mr. Zimmermann developed broad experience in the investment management area, representing broker-dealers, banks and investment advisers, as well as managers, sponsors, investors and consultants involved with domestic and offshore hedge funds and other private investment partnerships. Mr. Zimmermann has also been active in civil litigation on behalf of both managers of funds as well as institutional investors and regulatory proceedings before the SEC and other federal and state regulatory bodies. Mr. Zimmermann began his legal career as an associate in the litigation department of Curtis in 1977. Prior to rejoining Curtis in 1999, Mr. Zimmermann was with the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. and in private practice in Connecticut.

In addition to his capital raising activities, Mr. Zimmermann is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Bronx Charter School for Better Learning.

Daniel also co-founded Ridgeway Capital LLC in 2007. Ridgeway Capital, headquartered in New York, is a leading global placement agent. Daniel started his capital raising activities at TARA Capital, a European hedge fund marketing firm, where he focused on global asset raising with a focus on bringing international investors to Brazil. He was successful in raising over USD $1bn for Brazilian Managers, both funds and transactions. Mr. Rummery began his career at JP Morgan.

Mr. Rummery earned a B.A. from Bournemouth University in the U.K. Mr. Rummery lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mr. Rummery currently holds the Series 7, 63 and 79 registrations with FINRA.


Tim Chamberlain  |  Partner & Co-Founder

Mr. Chamberlain has been based in Sao Paulo, Brazil since 2010 and since arriving in Brazil has been an investor and partner in an Agribusiness-focused finance firm, and later worked on the restructuring of a large Brazilian asset manager.

In late 2013, Mr. Chamberlain established his own firm, Cabrera & Company which was focused on capital raising within the alternative investment industry in Latin America. Mr. Chamberlain began his career with Euromoney Institutional Investor in Hong Kong in 2000, and later joined the hedge fund database company, Eurekahedge at its launch in Singapore in 2002. Mr. Chamberlain served in multiple roles at Eurekahedge and was instrumental in launching its capital raising business, Eureka Capital Partners, and opening their New York office in 2004.

Mr. Chamberlain received a B.Sc. from Oxford Brookes University in the UK. Currently, Mr. Chamberlain holds the Series 7 & 63 registrations with FINRA.

Mr. Willans brings significant alternative investment experience to Brunel Advisors.  Prior to joining Brunel Advisors, Mr. Willans was an Executive Director and Global Head of Relationship Management for BTG Pactual’s Merchant Banking Group, based in Sao Paulo, where he led a global team responsible for all aspects of client activities and relationships across the Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Timberland strategies.  Prior to BTG Pactual, Mr. Willans was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, where he led the Alternative Investments and Manager Selection (AIMS) Group in Latin America, and was portfolio manager for the group’s growth and emerging market private equity business, focusing on private equity primaries, secondaries and co-investments.  Prior to moving to Brazil, Mr. Willans was a Vice President within the AIMS Private Equity Group for Goldman Sachs based in London.
