Prior to his deep involvement in the digital asset sphere, Mr. Braaten held key leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, at a prominent institutional agency broker-dealer and its affiliated crossing network. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Compliance Officer within the capital markets division of a major Canadian chartered bank and as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of a pioneering alternative trading system.

A graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa with a Commerce degree, Mr. Braaten further honed his governance acumen through completion of the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation at Rotman in Toronto.
