Stonehaven's CCO & Partner, Steven Jafarzadeh, Appointed to FINRA's Small Firm Advisory Committee

We’re excited to announce that Steven Jafarzadeh, Chief Compliance Officer & Partner at Stonehaven, has been appointed by the FINRA Board of Governors to serve on FINRA’s Small Firm Advisory Committee (SFAC)!

The SFAC is comprised of 10 senior executives (5 elected and 5 appointed) from the full universe of small member firms across the country.  The SFAC was established to ensure that issues of interest and concern for small member firms are effectively conveyed to and considered by FINRA.  The SFAC meets on a quarterly basis to discuss current regulations, policy changes, and various industry matters that impact the broker-dealer community.

Mr. Jafarzadeh’s three-year term commenced as of January 1, 2024.  Mr. Jafarzadeh has been a principal at Stonehaven for over 16 years.  Given his extensive experience regarding broker-dealer regulations for small firms, alongside his passion for this sector of the industry and past experience as an elected member of FINRA’s New York Regional Committee representing small member firms, Mr. Jafarzadeh looks forward to being a constructive advocate for the small member firm universe which accounts for over 80% of FINRA’s overall membership profiles.  Mr. Jafarzadeh will leverage this opportunity as a member of FINRA’s Small Firm Advisory Committee to ardently strive to ensure that the voices of small member firms are heard, and the unique needs of small member firms are addressed.
